These terms apply when you use Tradesmen, run by Tradesmen ME, through WhatsApp, our apps or our website. By booking, quoting or working through Tradesmen you accept them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.
What Tradesmen does
We connect customers with independent professionals and their crews for home services and maintenance, and provide tools for quotes, scheduling, job tracking and payments. Professionals are independent businesses, not our employees; the professional is responsible for the work they do. We check professionals when they join, but we do not guarantee any professional's availability or results beyond what these terms say.
Some professionals we suggest may not be on Tradesmen yet. For them we send a booking request on your behalf; the booking is only confirmed when they accept, and these terms' protections (such as disputes through us) apply once they join.
Accounts and the assistant
- You must be 18 or older and give accurate details. You are responsible for activity on your account and phone number.
- Our automated assistant answers, books and drafts quotes for you. It can make mistakes: check the details it reads back (time, address, price) before you confirm. A person on our team can step in at any time, and you can ask for one.
Visits, quotes and prices
- Inspection visits carry a call-out fee set by trade (Plumbing USD 35, Electrical USD 40, HVAC USD 45, Carpentry USD 30, Masonry USD 35, Painting USD 25; other trades USD 35), shown before you confirm. The fee you are shown is the fee you are booked at.
- Call-out fees are ×1.5 outside standard hours and ×2 on Sundays and public holidays. Emergency call-outs add USD 40; call-outs for severe or major problems add USD 10.
- Standard hours are 08:00–16:00 Monday to Friday and 08:00–12:00 on Saturday. Outside these hours prices are ×1.5; Sundays and public holidays ×2.
- If you go ahead with the work, a call-out you have paid is credited on the quote (a "Call-out already paid" line), unless the professional's profile says their call-out is not deductible, which you see before you book.
- Quotes list labour, materials and taxes and stay valid for 14 days. Work starts only after you accept a quote.
- Changes to the work found on site are sent to you as a variation with its price; nothing extra is charged unless you approve it.
- Prices are in USD unless the quote says otherwise.
Cancellations
- You can cancel a booked visit free of charge up to 12 hours before it. Later cancellations or not being available at the agreed time may be charged the call-out fee.
- If a professional cancels or does not arrive, you are not charged and we help you rebook.
Payment
- You pay the amounts in the accepted quote and any approved variations, on the terms shown in the quote (for larger projects typically: 50% deposit, 50% on completion).
- How to pay: Pay in cash to the professional or by bank transfer to the professional. Keep the receipt or transfer reference.
- Tradesmen does not currently take a commission on jobs.
- Where you pay Tradesmen (for example by Whish), we may hold the professional's payout until the job is signed off or a dispute is resolved.
Completion, problems and warranty
- When the work is done you are asked to sign off. Please check the work first.
- Report a problem within 7 days of completion through the app or WhatsApp. We will ask the professional to put it right and help both sides reach a fair outcome.
- Workmanship warranty is set in each quote; unless the quote says otherwise it is 12 months. It does not cover misuse, normal wear, or materials you supplied.
Materials orders
Professionals can order materials through Tradesmen. Material prices include VAT at 11%; delivery is USD 15 (express USD 35). Unused items in their original condition can be returned within 14 days; refunds are made within 5 days of receiving them.
Professionals and crew
- Keep your profile, rates, availability and certifications accurate and hold any licences and insurance your work requires.
- Quote honestly, turn up on time, run the job timer and record steps and crew truthfully, and follow applicable safety rules and standards.
- Do not take customers you met through Tradesmen off the platform to avoid its terms or fees.
- Crew members booked for a day are paid the agreed day rate; overtime follows the rules shown with the offer.
Acceptable use
Don't misuse the service: no false bookings or reviews, harassment, unsafe or illegal work, or attempts to access other people's data or disrupt our systems. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
Liability
We provide the platform with reasonable care and skill. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for the professional's work itself or for indirect losses, and our total liability for a job is limited to the fees we received for that job. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your rights as a consumer.
Changes and law
We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version, and important changes will be announced in the app or on WhatsApp. These terms are governed by the laws of Lebanon, and disputes that we cannot resolve together go to the courts of Beirut.
